Pakistan’s love for music goes back a long way. It is one of the few things that bring us together. If you have been blessed with a soulful voice, you’re in luck, because Pakistan really appreciates musical talent. We recently saw a young man from interior Balochistan achieve fame because of his voice. And the story doesn’t stop there. Pakistan has a wonderful platform for people who wish to express their musical talent; Pepsi Battle of the Bands.
Featuring huge stars like Fawad Khan, Meesha Shafi and Atif Aslam and many more guest appearances, it is an ongoing contest between new and aspiring bands to take on each other and come out victorious. The first episode just premiered and left us wowed. Let’s take a look at what went down.
Host Ayesha omer introduced the three judges who need no introduction. Being a powerhouse in their own right the three judges are perhaps the best choice for the show. The winner of the first Pepsi battle of the bands, Aaroh’s lead vocalist was the guest judge for the auditions.
A number of aspiring bands auditioned to be selected for the next round. Some were successful. Some needed a bit more work. All in all, it was wonderful to see Pepsi supporting the dreams of so many young people.
All these bands aiming for the top, performed their best. Some attempted to cover classics like Aitebar, while others debuted their own originals. The competition was extremely tough and in the end only few slots were filled.
The auditions will continue in the next episode where the bands will have a chance to impress the judges. In the end no matter who is selected, we know music wins!
